Traveling across the world, leaving familiarity behind and chasing my passion was something that seemed quite bold to begin with, but coming all the way to Australia from the U.S has turned out to be one of the most influential seasons of my life.

God provided a chance for me to live out my dream of coming to the land down under while also doing something I love. Over the past few months, I’ve done a dual internship with COCWA in communications and Lifestreams Christian Church as a youth leader. As a university student studying both Mass Communications and Sociology, this work experience was able to greatly enhance my knowledge in the journalism and communications field.

One the greatest aspects of coming here was the growth I experienced in my faith. I believe that stepping out of my comfort zone and being proactive has allowed me to rely on God more than ever before. With the crutches of familiarity taken away, it motivated me to reach out to others, grow closer to the Lord and develop character.

I want to encourage those reading this to be bold with your passions and trust that God will use those in incredible ways. Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Through the change, through the good times and through the bad times God is constant; He is with you through every moment of your journey.

What’s stopping you stepping out of your comfort zone to make a difference? I encourage you to give it a try and see how God works within you!
