Checking in with Esperance

Theme Graphic.001

During 2015 the Esperance Church of Christ has continued to meet on a weekly basis for the 11am Communion Service. Whilst our congregation may be small, averaging 25 a week, our services have brought encouragement and blessing to those who attend.

Sunday School is also held during the school term and we have been averaging eight students a week with some weeks going up to as many as 14. Many of our students have been coming for a number of years and still enjoy listening to the stories about our Saviour Jesus Christ.

The church has continued to function under the leadership of the deacon’s board. The deacon’s board has regularly met throughout the year and has endeavoured to keep the church running smoothly.

We have again been blessed and are thankful to God for those who have come to minister to us. Sonny Graham, Harry Graham, Rob Griffiths, Russell Rose and Grant Shipp have ministered to us regularly throughout the year.

Wongutha CAPS have continued to join us once a month and it has been wonderful to have so many young people joining us from the school. One of their staff Luke Rickeby and some of the talented young men run the praise and worship and it is always a lively time. Once a month we have a bring and share luncheon following the service.

We praise God that Mrs Smythe celebrated her 95th birthday on Saturday 23 January 2016. As with other fellowships, many of our members have been away on holidays this past month and we look forward to their return.

The board are thankful to the church members and the team at COCWA for their prayers and support and ask that you all continue to pray for the leadership and direction of the fellowship.
