City Church Celebrating 125 Years

City building

City Church of Christ will be celebrating their 125th Anniversary on Sunday 1 November 2015 and invite any who might be interested to come and share with them. As the first Churches of Christ church in Western Australia this is is also the 125th Anniversary of Churches of Christ in WA.

We, City Church of Christ, have now settled into our new accommodation and are grateful to the Association in assisting us in this.

It is just over twelve months since we were advised that we would have to vacate 111 Stirling Street which eventually occurred on 5 Jan 2015. After much searching and prayer we were able to secure the use of two offices at Piccadilly Square, two blocks away from the Stirling/Aberdeen Street location, and an owner who was agreeable to us modifying them so that they became one unit for use as a church facility.

We thank God for the provision of the new accommodation. The remodelling has been a joint effort with everyone in the congregation assisting. We recycled whatever materials we could from the walls that were demolished and reused and remodelled existing furnishings and fittings. Our new neighbours have been very cooperative and allow us the use of their parking of an evening and weekends.

We moved into our new location, 23/7 Aberdeen Street, Perth, albeit unfinished, on 31 May and have been renewing and rebuilding our contacts with the community.
